A bit of both. He was already determined to end it all before he saw Reiner, but seeing him at that state sealed the deal for him. He even stopped sweating for good after that moment (no joke look it up, he was still drenched just one panel before).

He already elaborated on that. He felt horrible about what he did and he wanted sympathy, even if that made him selfish. He wished that humans would understand their situation, "find them" in a way. Yet after he saw Reiner he realized that humans aren't fucking around, everything is decided and he must end it without crying or begging. It's how things are.

This keeps being brought up though. This chapter Zeke talked about humans like the mindwipe makes them forget why they must die, and if their memories weren't wiped they wouldn't be going out of the walls in the first place. Humans MUST die and for some reason they are the children of the devil, the devil possibly being the First King.

As for Reiner fighting MT, when BR talked about rescuing Annie, Zeke only threatened Reiner, which is probably because the CT isn't as easily replaceable as yet another armored titan. I don't think Zeke would leave Bert out of it solely because "he's a pussy", that just makes no sense. I don't know to me it looks like there's more to Bert like what most of the readers think. Not necessarily that he's a God per se, but he's not just some random warrior that can be fed to anyone and get done with it.
